Since writing Harry Potter, Rowling has also written an adult fiction novel, Casual Vacancy (2012), and the Cormoran Strike crime fiction series. She has also been involved in charity work for which she has earned many accolades.
More recently, Rowling has been embroiled in controversy regarding her stance on transgender people and civil rights issues in this area. Her views have been roundly criticized by LGBT+ advocates as transphobic. This controversy has caused havoc in the world of Harry Potter fandom.
