Along with Hip-Hop historian Sway Calloway, Netflix ‘Rhythm & Flow’ winner D Smoke, world renowned poet Amir Sulaiman, ‘The Alpha Woman’s Bible’ author Raquel “Ra” Brown, Isley Brothers’ heir Alex Isley, and famed Jazz Trumpeter Keyon Harrold Amber Jeanne (of Moonchild) all contribute to the project.
With DJ Dummy leading production duties, the sequel to 2017’s ‘Vintage Babies’ finds Mumu reaching new heights sonically as well as creatively. “Queen of Culture is a musical social commentary on culture, love, life, race, politics, equity, self care, spiritual awareness, the state of hiphop and more. The album merges many vintage sounds from the black music lineage such as soul, hiphop, reggae, & jazz to tell inspiring stories and give perspective to our experience as melanated people born and bred in America,” the pair said in a joint statement to press.
